Nach den großen Drachen Eiern wollte ich gern noch eine kleinere Variante zum Aufhängen. Hierfür muss man auch nicht ganz so viele Reißzwecken vorbereiten.
Für die kleinen Eier hatte ich Styropor Eier (ca 6cm groß), kleine Kunststoff Aufhänger, wieder jede Menge Reißzwecken und Nagellack (oder andere Farbe – ich hatte aber genügend Nagellack in der Schublade).
Pro Ei habe ich etwa 150 Reißzwecken gebraucht – genau kann ich keine Vorgabe machen, denn es kommt auf die Größe der Reißzwecken, des Eis und auf die Anordnung auf dem Ei an.
Diese Reißzwecken müssen zuerst lackiert werden und dann trocknen. Dafür habe ich sie auf einen Styropordeckel gespießt, ein Pappkarton sollte genauso gehen.
Wenn der Lack getrocknet ist kann man mit dem Anbringen beginnen. Ich habe den Aufhänger am runden Ende mittig platziert. Den Aufhänger habe ich erst mal rundherum mit fünf Reißzwecken fixiert.
Dann eine Reißzwecke mittig auf die Spitze des Eis setzen und sich von da aus langsam nach unten arbeiten. Die Köpfe der Reißzwecken müssen sich dabei überlagern, damit das Styropor nicht heraus schaut. Zwischenräume nicht versuchen mit Nagellack zu übermalen – die meisten Lacke greifen Styropor an.
After the big dragon eggs I wanted a smaller version to hang up. You don’t have to prepare as many thumbtacks for this.
For the small eggs I had styrofoam eggs (about 6cm tall), small plastic hangers, again lots of tacks and nail polish (or other color – but I had enough nail polish in the drawer).
I used about 150 thumbtacks per egg – I can’t give you an exact specification, because it depends on the size of the thumbtacks, the egg and the arrangement on the egg.
These tacks must be varnished first and then dried. For this I impaled them on a styrofoam lid, a cardboard box should work just as well.
When the polish has dried you can start applying. I placed the hanger in the middle at the round end. I fixed the hanger all around with five thumbtacks.
Then place a thumbtack in the middle of the pointed end of the egg and slowly work your way down from there. The heads of the thumbtacks must overlap so that the styrofoam does not stick out. Don’t try to paint over gaps with nail polish – most polishes attack styrofoam.
