Drachen Augen (Dragon eyes)

Nach den Anhängern und den Drachen Eiern kam mir die Idee, mal ein paar Drachen Augen zu versuchen.

Im Internet oder Bastelladen bekommt man kleine runde Glassteine – auch Cabochons genannt – und passende Fassungen in vielen unterschiedlichen Größen. Ich hatte eine kleine Variante mit ca 16mm bestellt.

Erst einen kleinen Tropfen schwarzen Nagellack mittig auf die glatte Seite der Glassteine geben. Vorsichtig mit einem Zahnstocher nach oben und unten ziehen (nicht ganz bis zum Rand) und so die schwarze, längliche Pupille formen. Trocknen lassen

Bei den nächsten beiden Farben darf man sich nicht zu lange zeit lassen damit sie nicht trocknen. Einen dünnen Ring farbigen Nagellack (z.B. grün) um die schwarze Pupille auftragen, dann direkt einen etwas breiteren Ring farbigen Nagellack (z.B. gelb) bis zum Rand. Vorsichtig mit einem Zahnstocher oder einer Nadel von der Pupille aus nach außen hin streifen in den Lack ziehen, sodass die Farben ineinander gezogen werden. Trocknen lassen.

Zum Schluss noch mal die Farbe des äußeren Rings komplett über die gesamte Fläche pinseln.

Wenn der Lack komplett getrocknet ist kann man die Steine mit einem lösungsmittelfreien Klebstoff in die Fassungen kleben.

After the pendants and the dragon eggs I had the idea to try some dragon eyes.

The small round glass pebbles – also called cabochons – and matching frames in many different sizes are available on the Internet or in the craft shop. I had ordered a small version with about 16mm.

First put a small drop of black nail polish in the middle of the smooth side of the glass stones. Gently pull up and down with a toothpick (not all the way to the edge) to form the black, oblong pupil. let dry

The next two colors shouldn’t take too long to dry. Apply a thin ring of colored nail polish (e.g. green) around the black pupil, then apply a slightly wider ring of colored nail polish (e.g. yellow) to the edge. Carefully pull a toothpick or a needle outwards from the pupil into the polish so that the colors are drawn into one another. Let dry.

When the nail polish is completely dry, the stones can be glued into the sockets with a solvent-free adhesive.
